Beat Making and Song Writing

Learn basic audio production skills to create beats and compose original music.

Gain experience and confidence using digital music technology that many artists, producers and audio engineers use to create professional music and productions.

Experiment with beatmaking and songwriting to compose original music that you can use as a foundation for future song writing and recording.

Enjoy a relaxed and supportive environment to explore your creative, musical side and learn new skills.

No prior knowledge or experience needed.

 

 

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain an understanding of the art and technology of electronic music composition and production
  • Learn to use a computer for original music creation
  • Practice skills in electronic music composition including listening, recording, improvising and sequencing
  • Gain knowledge of basic MIDI recording techniques including music editing, analysis, and refining recorded material
  • Develop a music portfolio that you can use for personal enjoyment, auditions, rehearsals or employment opportunities

  • People who are interested in exploring music, song writing and/or making beats -- no experience necessary!
  • Musicians who would like to learn digital production skills and technology to create compositions
  • People with some experience who would like guidance from a professional musician and instructor
