CDAC Mini-Grants

CDAC Mini-Grants for Classified Employees | Seattle Central College - Continuing EducationThe Classified Development Advisory Committee provides “mini-grants” to classified staff members who wish to engage in development activities.

The grants can be used for conferences, workshops, online courses, or classes. Expenses other than books, materials, and food can be included.

The annual maximum grant is $200 per staff member, but the grant can be combined with other funding sources.

Applications accepted throughout the year.

The goal of this grant is to enhance lifelong learning experiences by:

  • increasing job knowledge
  • improving job skill
  • encouraging professional career growth which leads to these goals

College Friends & Family Rate

College Friends & Family Rate | Seattle Central College - Continuing EducationSeattle Central's Continuing Education program offers a special tuition rate to our College friends and family.

  • Current employees of all classifications and their families, as well as currently enrolled college students and their families are eligible for this rate.
  • This rate applies only to registrations completed on or before the 2nd Monday of each quarter.
  • Up to 5 Friends & Family registrations allowed per class.

Faculty Development Grants

Faculty Development Grants | Seattle Central College - Continuing EducationFaculty Development Grants are to fund faculty for travel, conference attendance, and workshop facilitation.

Faculty members of the Seattle College District are eligible to receive Individual Grants up to a maximum total of $550 each academic year.

Applications accepted throughout the year. See program's website for specific deadlines.

Examples of eligible Individual Grant proposals:

  • Tuition or fees for workshops, conferences, special courses, seminars, etc.
  • Cost of audio/video tapes and/or software when associated with a conference or workshop (Item becomes property of your division)
  • Travel expenses to attend activities listed above

President’s Professional Development Grant

President’s Professional Development Grant | Seattle Central College - Continuing EducationApply for up to $2,000 for faculty; $1,000 for other employees

Applications accepted throughout the year. See program's website for specific deadlines.

General Guidelines:

  • Staff, faculty, and exempt employees are eligible.
  • The purpose of the grant is to develop professional growth and improve job performance.
  • Examples of activities previously funded include: skill development training, conference & workshop registration, related travel expenses, and tuition toward certificates or degrees.
  • This is a reimbursement grant only. You are encouraged to apply as early as possible so your application can be reviewed for funding before you commit to the activity; however, the activity must be completed before you are eligible for reimbursement.
  • Funds are limited and the grant application is a competitive process. A committee of your peers will review applications for completeness and relevance to your work and the college’s priorities. Awardees may be requested to serve on the review committees.
