Get Down to Basics
Have you been putting off learning how to use a computer?
Do you have a little bit of knowledge, but just enough to get yourself in trouble?
Does the idea of learning about hardware, software, the internet -- oh my! -- feel overwhelming?
Skilled instructor Will Berkley has been working with computers for most of his life and teaching others how to become more comfortable with them for nearly a decade.
In his Basic Computer Skills class, he'll be your patient sherpa as he guides you through a fundamental understanding of how computers work, how to choose the right one for your needs, how you can use them to make your life easier, and more.
If you've been looking for a low-pressure and fun way to join the digital revolution, Will's class is for you.
What classes do you teach for Seattle Central?
I teach various computer skills classes for Continuing Education; a basic Windows class and classes in the Office Suite. I've been teaching for about nine years.
What's your educational & professional background?
My background is software testing, quality assurance, and software project management.
I have a degree in Intercultural Studies, have visited about a dozen countries and lived overseas for about three years. I enjoy visiting new places and meeting new people.
What do you enjoy the most about teaching your classes at Seattle Central?
I love to learn and I love to help others learn. Those “aha!” moments are the best, whether I experience them myself or see them on the faces of my students.
