Are you an opera buff or would like to be? Enjoy a VIP insider course on opera appreciation. Discover all about the process behind the scenes of what goes
into putting on an opera production. Explore the history of opera from a professional opera singer, academic and music educator. Learn the ins and outs of the rehearsal process, costumes, sets, and getting the stage. When possible, the final session will feature a backstage tour of McCaw Hall and a ticket to one of Seattle Opera’s productions.

Not every singer’s journey is the same! Learn all about the opera singer’s training process and how it differs from other genres. In this class you will discover different training options for opera singers and learn about the different voice types. Compare techniques used from other genres and find the center of the raw human voice. Learn from an opera singer with a Master's degree from the Eastman School of Music, who is also teaching artist with the Seattle Opera and has a background in education.

Prerequisites: Understanding of the basic human voice: soprano, alto, tenor, bass.
