AutoCAD 2016 - Level 1 | Seattle Central College - Continuing Education

Discover the world of computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) by learning how to use AutoCAD in this intensive "bootcamp" course format.

AutoCAD is a 2-D and 3-D computer-aided drafting software application that is used in architecture, construction and manufacturing to assist in the preparation of blueprints and other engineering plans.

Gain the drafting and design skills needed to compete in the rapidly changing 21st century global workplace and qualify for entry-level AutoCAD drafting positions.

In this special new summer course, learn how to use AutoCAD software from introduction to 3D modeling -- in an intensive format.

Acquire a functional command of AutoCAD over the course of 14 immersive classes.

If you are already experienced with drafting, you can assume more senior AutoCAD positions and gain confidence in your software skills.

This AutoCAD Bootcamp course offers significant hands-on experience and classes are sequenced to build upon previous classroom/lab and work experiences.

    • Basic Geometry Tools
  • Software Download Instructions for personal computer

6/25:

  • Project Tablecar
    • Apply basic geometry tools to draft tables and a car
  • Project Shirt
    • Learn additional geometry commands to draft a shirt with precise arcs and angles

6/26:

  • Complete Project TableCar and Project Shirt by applying:
    • Text
    • Dimensions

6/27:

  • Project Concrete Section
    • Utilize Layers to organize the drawing
    • Apply Hatching
    • Create a block

7/01:

  • Project Yard House
    • Create a landscape plan for a home on a city lot

7/02:

  • Project Yard House
    • Complete final landscape plan
    • Add detail views in separate viewports

7/03:

  • Project Clark Lake
    • Import an external reference
    • Draft a parking lot and adjust topographic lines

7/08:

  • Project Clark Lake
    • Complete Project Clark Lake
    • Import blocks

7/09:

  • Project Electric/BOM
    • Create annotative blocks
    • Export data to Excel file to create a Bill of Materials

7/10:

  • Project Office Building
    • Apply all knowledge to this point to design an office building on a grid system

    • Complete interior design of the Office Building
    • Learn to utilize groups
